Is DESIRAE PC&QUEST worth it if you’re shopping in 3D?

You’ve spent the last few hours staring at avatar thumbnails, trying to find a dragon build that doesn’t look like a clip-art sticker slapped onto a generic base. You want the horns, the tail, and the goth aesthetic, but you also need it to actually move when you talk and react when you emote. That is the specific gap DESIRAE PC&QUEST sits in. It isn’t a base mesh you have to dress up yourself; it is a fully realized, goth-dragon avatar that comes pre-rigged for the heavy lifting. If you are tired of hunting for separate SPS and face-tracking setups that might not play nice with your chosen body, this $45 package from Griffonka is worth a serious look.

Quick answer

What you’re actually buying

At $45, you are not just buying a static model; you are buying a finished character that is ready to drop into your VRChat library. The core appeal here is the goth dragon aesthetic, a niche that is surprisingly hard to find in a single, cohesive package. Instead of piecing together a dragon body, a goth top, and a separate hair asset from three different creators, DESIRAE PC&QUEST gives you the whole look in one file. The listing highlights a substantial wardrobe: three bodysuits, a goth top, a bra, multiple sleeve options, a coat, and fur accents. For the bottom, you get heels, shoes, pants, shorts, and three pairs of thigh-highs, plus fishnets. That level of outfit variety means you aren’t stuck with one look; you can switch up your vibe within the same avatar.

The “dragon” part is where this really stands out. You get four horn options, dragon ears, elf ears, a tail, and wings. This isn’t just a tail attached to a human body; the listing credits specific dragon body assets, which usually implies a more integrated and anatomically consistent design. On top of that, the avatar includes VRC Face Tracking and SPS (Secondary Particle Systems). This is a big deal for expressiveness. Face tracking means your expressions actually land on the model, and SPS adds that little extra flair—like the lollipop mentioned in the listing—that makes your avatar feel alive in a crowded instance. You also get GoGoLoco compatibility, which is essential if you want to use the avatar on mobile or mixed setups without losing functionality. (DESIRAE PC&QUEST)

The hair and customization options are equally deep. You get bangs, fluffy hair, long hair, a ponytail, and short hair. The adjustments list includes skin tone, color, eye color, tattoos, black eyes, liner, and a makeup toggle. This level of granularity means you can dial in the exact goth intensity you want, whether that’s subtle eye liner or full-on dramatic makeup. The credits section shows a mix of high-quality assets from creators like 23mink, Zinpia, and YingyangVR, which suggests the base model and textures are of a professional standard. You are getting a curated collection of premium parts, assembled and rigged by Griffonka, so you don’t have to worry about whether the head will fit the body or if the shaders will conflict. Why it’s on our radar

This avatar is interesting because it solves the “assembly problem” that plagues many VRChat users. Most dragon avatars are either too cartoonish or too minimal, and finding one that balances a serious goth aesthetic with high-detail dragon features is rare. The fact that it is PC & Quest compatible makes it versatile for users who don’t have a dedicated PC VR setup but still want a high-fidelity avatar. The inclusion of face tracking and SPS at this price point is a strong value proposition; usually, you have to pay extra for those features or build them yourself. (DESIRAE PC&QUEST)

A Gumroad review captures the exact vibe of the target audience: “I bought vei since I love dragons then I saw Desire and was like ‘hmm I do need more goth’ and when I realised that this adorable bean was goth and DRAGON!? awwww shit!” That reaction speaks to the specific niche this avatar fills. It’s not just a dragon; it’s a goth dragon, and that combination is what makes it stand out in a sea of generic fantasy builds. The reviewer’s excitement highlights how rare it is to find an avatar that hits both aesthetic notes simultaneously.

What actually matters

Before you checkout, a few things are worth noting. First, the avatar is built on Unity 2022.3.22f1. If you are using a significantly older version of VRChat or Unity, you might run into compatibility issues, so make sure your setup is up to date. Second, the listing is explicit about the no-refund policy. Digital goods like this are final sale, so if you are on the fence, check the gallery images carefully to ensure the style matches your taste. The credits list is long, which is a good sign for quality, but it also means the avatar is a composite of many assets. If you plan to use specific parts (like the piercings or eye shader) on other avatars, you will need to purchase those separately from the original creators. (DESIRAE PC&QUEST)

The terms of use are standard for high-end VRChat avatars: no leaking, no resale, and no commercial use of the parts. You must provide your Discord ID and VRChat name to purchase, which is a common practice to prevent account sharing. This isn’t a restriction to worry about if you are a legitimate user, but it’s good to know upfront. The avatar is designed for private use, so if you are a content creator or streamer, make sure you are comfortable with the licensing terms before you buy. (DESIRAE PC&QUEST)
