Float Wallpaper Pack by Shevon Salmon: is this $7 stack worth it for Design?

What you’re actually buying
At $7, you’re getting a complete visual refresh for your primary devices. The pack includes four distinct colorways—Black, Burgundy, Glacy, and Silver—each provided in both mobile and desktop resolutions. That means eight total files, all optimized to work across iPhone, Android, Mac, PC, and tablets. You don’t have to hunt for the right aspect ratio or worry about cropping; the files are sized to fit your screen out of the box. (Float Wallpaper Pack by Shevon Salmon)
The design language here is “subtle movement.” Instead of static, flat colors, these wallpapers use smooth flowing forms and soft metallic textures to create a sense of depth. It’s the kind of aesthetic that makes a laptop lid or a phone lock screen feel tactile and high-end. Because the backgrounds are predominantly dark and minimal, your icons, widgets, and notifications remain highly legible. You get a “clean” look that actually functions, rather than a decorative image that forces you to squint to read a notification. (Float Wallpaper Pack by Shevon Salmon)
The 54MB zip file is an instant download, so you can be setting up your new backgrounds within minutes of purchase. It’s a personal-use license, so it’s perfect for your own devices, but it’s not a commercial asset pack for client work. For the price of a coffee, you’re trading a generic default image for a designer-curated set that makes your tech feel like it has a personality. (Float Wallpaper Pack by Shevon Salmon)
Why it’s on our radar
This pack stands out because it solves a specific, low-effort problem: making your devices look cohesive without spending hours in Photoshop. Most wallpaper packs are either too busy or too generic. Float Wallpaper Pack by Shevon Salmon hits a sweet spot of “minimal but not boring.” The fact that every color has a dedicated desktop and mobile version is a small detail that saves you real time. You don’t have to resize or crop; you just pick the file for the device you’re holding.
The “fluid” texture is also a smart choice for modern UI. As dark mode becomes the default for most operating systems, wallpapers that are too bright or too patterned can cause eye strain or make icons blend in. These layered, dimensional textures provide enough contrast to keep your interface sharp while adding a layer of sophistication that stock photos rarely achieve. Buyers seem to appreciate this balance of cleanliness and style. One user noted, “Love the wallpaper!! It’s always clean!” Gumroad reviews highlight how the pack maintains a consistent aesthetic without feeling sterile. Another reviewer added, “Very clean & minimalistic. Shev knows what’s up. 🤝🏾,” which speaks to the designer’s eye for what actually works on a screen.
What actually matters
Before you hit buy, keep a few practical details in mind to ensure the files fit your workflow. (Float Wallpaper Pack by Shevon Salmon)
- Resolution and Cropping: The files are high-resolution, but the listing notes that you may need to manually rotate them for landscape devices (like tablets or ultrawide monitors). If you use a 4K monitor or a tablet in landscape mode, check the aspect ratio after downloading to see if a slight crop is needed. (Float Wallpaper Pack by Shevon Salmon)
- Personal Use Only: This is a license for your personal devices. If you’re a designer looking for background assets to use in client presentations or commercial projects, this isn’t the right license. It’s for your own setup. (Float Wallpaper Pack by Shevon Salmon)
- No Refunds for Preference: The seller states there are no refunds unless it’s a seller issue. Since this is a matter of taste, make sure the “fluid, metallic” aesthetic matches your vibe before purchasing. If you prefer bold, colorful, or photographic images, this pack will likely feel too subtle for you. (Float Wallpaper Pack by Shevon Salmon)
- Instant Download: The files are delivered via a .zip link. On iPhone, the listing advises downloading via Safari to ensure the files save correctly to your Photos or Files app. It’s a standard digital delivery, so have your device ready to unzip and set the wallpaper immediately.
