What you’re actually buying
If you’ve been following KittenKin on Tumblr and want to stop scrolling through individual posts to read the story in order, The Science of Affection (1 of 2) is the practical solution. For a single dollar, you get a consolidated 52-page PDF that packages all the panels posted through February 13, 2019. This isn’t just a random collection of images; it’s a structured reading experience that takes the fragmented nature of webcomic posting and turns it into a cohesive, page-turnable document.
The value here is in the consolidation. You are paying for the convenience of having the first major chunk of this John Lock fanwork in one file. At 12 MB, the file is lightweight enough to load quickly on a tablet or phone but substantial enough to contain a significant amount of narrative. It’s a straightforward digital comic download that respects your time by organizing the content chronologically, allowing you to dive into the story without the friction of navigating a blog archive. Why it’s on our radar
This offer stands out because it provides a low-barrier entry point into a niche fanwork. Many digital comics are sold as complete volumes, but this product acknowledges the ongoing nature of the series by offering a specific, dated slice (up to post #83). For a reader who wants to test the waters of KittenKin’s art and writing style before committing to a larger purchase, this $1 starter pack is the ideal risk-free way to engage with the material.
The specificity of the listing—naming the exact date and post number—signals a curated product rather than a generic dump. It tells you exactly where the story stands and what you’re getting. If you are new to the series, this gives you a solid foundation to understand the characters and tone before the plot evolves further. (The Science of Affection (1 of 2))
